A commotion disturbs them - it is the football quarterback, Vince
Blake, being mobbed by girls. Logan mentions that Vince is the reason

the PCA football team is in the state finals for the first time ever.

The girls are excited that he is coming their way and primp.

Vince has nicknames for everybody. Logan is "logo," Michael is
Michaelicious. Michael is on the team, and discusses the game last week

with him. Zoey is "Zolaroid." Vince makes up the name "Quinnderella"

on the spot for Quinn.

History class:

The teacher tells the class there will be a test on the American
Revolution. The teacher also heaps accolades on Vince Blake, because he

is going to win the football game - and Chase is frustrated to the point

of banging his head on the table. He coincidentally shares a table with

Vince.

Dean Rivers' office - Zoey, Lola, and Quinn are talking to Dean Rivers

about adding healthy food to the vending machines. Dean Rivers is
distracted by one of those tiny pool table games, and is not convinced about

healthy snacks. The junk food machines are huge money makers for PCA, income

he does not want to risk! He doesn't think the kids will buy healthy snacks.

Dean Rivers accidentally shoots the tiny cue ball into Quinn's mouth, and she
swallows it!

Nighttime at PCA - the classroom wing. Chase is knocking on the window to get
the attention of the janitor, who is sweeping the rug. Chase thinks he left
his Tekmate in history class. The janitor lets him in, and he opens the door
to the classroom - only to see that Vince Blake is there, photographing the
test answers with his camera phone!

Back in the boys' dorm room, Chase is discussing the incident with Logan and

Michael. Michael points out that the whole school will be against him if he
turns Vince in. Logan is even less concerned - he doesn't care that Vince
is cheating at all!

In the girls' dorm room, Mark is helping Quinn weigh cactus plants.
Lola is playing a video game, Zoey is working at her computer. Lola asks why
they are weighing the plants, Quinn tells her it is for a horticultural
project. Zoey has found a healthy snack on the web - Moon Bars. Mark asks why -
and she tells him they are going to put them in PCA snack machines. Lola and
Quinn remind her that Dean Rivers said no - but Zoey, of course, is
determined. Mark takes a break from the project, and sits on a cactus plant!

In typical Mark fashion - he simply says "please call the nurse."

Chase, Michael, and Logan are discussing the cactus incident in the
hall on the way to the lounge - Mark was in for 6 hours having cactus needles
removed! When they get to the lounge, Chase sees Vince. He goes to talk to
him about cheating. Vince comes right out and admits it. Vince gives Chase a
thinly veiled threat.

Outside on a sidewalk, Chase, Michael, and Logan have caught up with Zoey.
Chase tells her Vince came right out and admitted he was going to cheat. Zoey
is more sympathetic, but Michael and Chase are more concerned that Chase's
accusations will affect Vince's performance on the football field. Chase is
remarking that Vince's football doesn't make him bigger than life - when they
hear girls screaming with delight - and having pictures in front of a huge
picture of Vince.

In the girls' dorm room - Zoey enters to find Lola, Quinn, and Mark
with boxes of the Moon Bars. They all excitedly take a bite from a sample -
only to find out that they taste horrible. All of them run to the window to

spit out the rest! Lola points out that Dean Rivers would have them arrested

if they put Moon Bars in the vending machines. Mark and Quinn look at each
other - they have a plan! They inject green cactus goo into a Moon Bar. Lola
tries it out, and it worked! Quinn explains that the cactus is rare and has a
tasty sap. She has enough to treat all the Moon Bars!

Outside in a courtyard, a boy tells Chase that Coach Keller needs to
talk to him by the field house.

Elsewhere on campus, a worker is filling a snack machine with junk food.
Quinn approaches him, and asks to see his elbow for a class project. Zoey and
Lola are hiding and watching. She does a nerve pinch that knocks him out, and
the girls swap Moon Bars for the junk food!

Chase calls out for Coach Keller, and is instead confronted by four
large, tough looking football players. They warn him not to bust Vince for
cheating. Chase tries to bluff that he is calling a cousin who knows karate -
and they take his phone and throw it.

In the courtyard, people are going crazy trying to buy Moon Bars! Dean Rivers
joins them, and tells them that they were right. But something is wrong - he
is so anxious to get a Moon Bar, he steals one from a girl.

In history class, the tests are back. Chase tells Vince he won't turn him in
for cheating - if he never does it again. But - Vince won't promise not to
cheat again. When the teacher hands the test back to Vince, who made a 100 -
Chase can stand it no longer. He speaks out, telling everybody that Vince
cheated. The history teacher tells Chase that is a serious accusation, but
Chase gambles that Vince was too stupid to erase the pictures on his picture
phone.

Night at PCA, Zoey and Chase are playing basketball in the courtyard.
Chase tells Zoey that the pictures WERE on Vince's phone, and now he
is on academic suspension and can't play football. Zoey thinks he did the
right thing, but the whole school hates Chase. The courtyard soon fills with
football players - including Vince - who obviously are intent on bodily
harming Chase. Michael, Logan, and Mark come to defend Chase. Mark thought
they were going to a movie. Logan tries to talk them out of it -

In the girls' lounge, Chase, Michael, and Logan are bloodied and
bruised. The girls are tending them - and Logan and Michael mention Mark

tried to help. Quinn, of course, rushes off to find Mark - who is stuffed in

a basketball hoop!

Outdoors the next day, the girls are studying, when Stacey runs up to
tell them that there is only one Moon Bar left, and all the kids are trying

to break into the machine to get it. Dean Rivers runs up - he tells Zoey they
need more Moon Bars! When Stacey tells him there is one left but it is
stuck in the machine, he rushes off to fight with the kids to get it. Zoey and
Lola ask Quinn what is going on --- she explains that the cactus goo is
addictive, and once destroyed a whole civilization! She has one left and offers

it to Zoey and Lola, but the kids spot them and chase them! Zoey spots Vince,
and hands him the last Moon Bar. Vince is soon run over by kids wanting the
last Moon Bar!

Closing line - Chase: "It was a medley of pain."

ANALYSIS:

This episode has generated more controversy than any other to date -
over whether Chase's actions were right - or wrong. Dan clearly intended
to convey that Vince's actions were wrong, and Chase right. Yet there
were quite a number of persons who were upset by Chase's actions - feeling

that it amounted to ratting Vince out - an evil in their eyes.

It is nice to see Stacey back again. She appeared in a couple of other
episodes, notably Chase's Girlfriend - she was the girl with the Q- tip

house. Stacey seems to have replaced Vicky as the occasional other Zoey
girl. Vicky has not appeared in Season 3 to date.

Christopher Massey plays football in real life, like Michael in this
episode.

Vince does not have nicknames for Chase and Lola.

More Star Trek elements: Quinn renders the vending machine technician
unconscious by using a nerve pinch. Spock used a nerve pinch in
several episodes of Star Trek to knock people out. Quinn's nerve pinch was
in a different location, of course.

The girl that Dean Rivers takes a Moon Bar from is Sarah - one of Jamie's
friends, who is a frequent extra.

This episode shows the extent to which athletics is integrated into the

fabric of the education system (public and private). Some would argue that
this is not necessarily a good thing. Chase, it seems, would agree.

This episode also made excellent use of the talents of Jack Salvatore, Jr.

as the long suffering Mark. There is a bit of "crucifix" imagery at the
end, when the football goons had stuffed him into a basketball hoop.

Amazing! Jamie had a wedgie in the basketball scene near the end.
They didn't catch it! Did Jamie go to tell Michael and Logan to help
Chase? There wasn't enough time.

The addictive nature of the cactus goo in the Moon Bars would probably get

Quinn suspended, if not arrested, at most schools.
